After a two week break, I was back at the lovely Warwick House in Southam. Over the Christmas period I shot a few weddings and thankfully, all were within a 5 mile radius of my home. After all the festivities, I can tell you this was a very welcome change from the usual 1-2 hour drive. The weather was a little drizzly when I got there and without wanting to moan, the weather had been quite miserable in the days building up to this wedding. However, a short while later, the sun came out and was beaming through from then on.
I arrived at the venue and went straight up to the girls in the bride preparation room. You can never be too sure what to expect when you turn up and there are a lot of girls getting ready together. Especially if one of them is wearing a t-shirt that has “I’m am actually trained in vajazzling” written across it. I later found this was just a bit of irony and she was an absolutely lovely girl. I did have a little chuckle to myself with that one though. With the hairdressers styling like crazy, the room was becoming quite misty with hairspray. As a result of this, I started getting slightly obsessed with the light rays coming in through the window. I had to stop myself as I was getting a little carried away….it was beautiful!
I found the whole group to be friendly, welcoming and relaxed. Danielle had a huge smile on her face all day long and it was plain to see what this day meant to her.
I went down to find Jamie looking dapper and very calm as the guests began to arrive. Photographically speaking, I love the reception room of Warwick House as it is laid out in such away that is conducive to great photography. The lovely big windows light a perfectly sized room, which keeps people together and the atmosphere up. I am able to move through the groups of people without being noticed and this allows me to gain the types of shots I am looking for. This makes me happy!
There were certainly a few tear filled eyes during the ceremony and later on for that matter. Danielle’s brother gave an extremely heart felt speech in which he struggled to keep his composure. I am told they are very close and of course mean a great deal to each other. I love to see emotion at a wedding, to see what people feel for each other quite often ends in the photographer being teary eyed too! Luckily, I have a camera to hide behind!! It was lovely to be invited to such a special day. No matter how many weddings I have been too, I always appreciate how much it means to have been the one they have chosen to record their big day. I always feel humbled by the faith people put in me to do a good job for them. With every wedding, I do my absolute best to ensure their faith is repaid by delivering memorable, outstanding work that will stay with them forever. Congratulations Danielle & Jamie!
